Produced by the Kimura Family in Sashima, located in the Ibaraki Prefecture to the Northeast of Tokyo, this Japanese black tea is built on the Seishin cultivar, known in its homeland of Taiwan as Blue Heart. This expression is doubly rare in that it's produced in Japan with a cultivar most often prepared as oolong. In the cup, the result is a rich and heady tea with a complex spiced aroma.
